Why IB Film Fest?

Welcome to the IB Film Festival, a space dedicated to showcasing the best short films from the International Baccalaureate (IB) Film program. I am Victor, I live in Los Angeles, and I started this festival after realizing that IB films are ineligible for most film festivals. IB Films have very specific instructions and grading criteria, which makes watching them without the assignment guidelines confusing. As an IB film student myself, I wanted to showcase the incredible talent and creativity of IB film students around the world.  For most IB film students, our films are only seen by our teacher and select classmates.  We want the world to see the talent of IB filmmakers.

Why IB Film Fest?

The IB Film Festival is a project dedicated to showcasing the best short films from the International Baccalaureate (IB) Film program.

As IB film students ourselves, we understand the dedication and commitment it takes to plan, shoot, and edit a successful IB film. We want your audience to expand from just your teacher and classmates to a global network of film enthusiasts.

Every IB film class has different guidelines for each clip. Whether it is to shoot a chase scene, only use non-diegetic sound, or film the same scene in two different genres, IB films have very specific prompts, rules, and criteria.

We understand those guidelines, and we will judge your films based on how well they create emotion, how cinematographic they look, how well the screen play is, and how creative they are, rather than how well you fill an assignment criteria.

We want to share your films with the world, we want you to be recognized.

Through our festival, we aim to inspire and connect IB schools around the world. By highlighting the work of IB filmmakers, we hope to contribute to the growth and recognition of emerging talents in the global film industry.

We invite you to join our festival, where you can immerse yourself in the world of IB films.

Welcome to our festival - a celebration of creativity and passion in the world of International Baccalaureate filmmaking.
